I have started working on the revised Colonial Warbook.

At the moment, it does look like I might do it as a revised one - to replace the earlier edition, but its still developing.

I have a fair number of Cylon images to add in, but no stats for them at the moment so that is taking me quite some time.   I'm also statting and fluffing out the various Viper's (up to VI so far).

I also need to do images for the Troopstars already listed

blah, blah, etc, etc and so on.   Its taking time.

PS - does anyone have an image for the Serenity 4?   Thats the longer model version.

Working on the Aesir Series - you know - the Valk.   With different write ups in the original War Book, I decided to add in a little more fluff and make them all become part of a series.   Still somewhat to go but the images so far (all modded from Ice Dragons excellent works) are:

1.  Aesir

2.  Aerie

3.  Valiant

4.  Valkyrie

5.  Valhalla

and two spares to use at some point:

6.  Valedictory

7.  Vandal (stretched Valedictory)

Hope you enjoy.

Slowly proceeding.    It doesn't help when you get your shoulder and arm wrenched on a bus.   Working VERY slowly.

You might want to check out the Thin Blue Line file as the admiralty side of the department of defense has already been completed. I didn't go into the depth that you have, but no need in reinventing the wheel for the parts that are already done.

I actually have looked at it in detail...Sometimes the wheel needs to be tweaked to work correctly. The CMC Section and Planetary Defense Forces are .... needing revision

Truth be told, the focus was on the fleet, so it's no surprise the information on the ground forces is lacking. Let me know if you want any assistance, I'm a 33 year army guy and wouldn't mind helping out.

First i hope you didn't take me dogging you about your contribution. I love BSG (2003+) and Caprica. You guys started something beautiful and liberated the game from corporate limitations. Kudo's there! All I am saying is fine tune it and make it something smooth and fine like good ambrosia (ahem bourbon).

I would love to tackle a revision of the thin blue line (sounds rather cops like)

To begin with the bulk of military data looks like a down load from wiki on the USN And USMC. The PDF side is ridiculous with Aerilon having that many ground troops.  20 Billion colonists... GNP which is huge... yet 40 years of peace save a few bush wars... The PDF's wouldn't be so huge especially with 120 battlestars to fund (think of 120 Nimitz Aircraft carriers crossed with the Bismark in cost manpower and force projection). There is a Traveller RPG matrix for determining planetary defense factors:  (pop)P x tech level x trade status = Battalion factors and system defence factors. I think that would be a logical way to proceed with the PDF's. Sorry a planet fielding 35 divisions and funding a portion of the federal forces and government doesn't seem likely.

I will start with Aerilon as an example and post it for commentary or criticism...in a few days... I need to do research on the planet/colony.

Thought never entered my mind.

I love BSG (2003+) and Caprica. You guys started something beautiful and liberated the game from corporate limitations.

We'll have to agree to disagree about BSG and because my opinion of BSG is so low, I have refused to watch Caprica.

All I am saying is fine tune it and make it something smooth and fine like good ambrosia (ahem bourbon).

Given the number of hands that went into the project and not having a steady editor, its amazing it was completed at all.

I would love to tackle a revision of the thin blue line (sounds rather cops like)

It was a quote by Adama, I think, in one of the episodes. I've done everything I can to purge BSG from my memory, so I couldn't tell you which one.

To begin with the bulk of military data looks like a down load from wiki on the USN And USMC.

That is probably true. I didn't work on that part aside from offering a few opinions.

You never know. Once something gets established in a large governmental bureaucracy, it is damn hard to make it go away. For example, during the late 1920s, the US Government established a Strategic Helium Reserve for the Navy's Airship program (It was rare back then the US having the only source in the world from one oilfield in Texas). They did not shut down the SHR until the mid-90s. That's 60 bloody years of hoarding a commodity that stopped being strategic in 1935. I can see in the dark days when the Cylons were kicking the Colonial's fourth point of contact on an hourly basis, a law was passed that set ground force levels absurdly high and no one ever bothered to update the law.

There is a Traveller RPG matrix for determining planetary defense factors:  (pop)P x tech level x trade status = Battalion factors and system defence factors.

Doesn't surprise me Traveler was around long enough to have a rule for almost everything.

I do see your point, but as I mentioned, once the government bureaucracy has their fiefdom established, they are loath to give any of it up.

I am plugging away at it presently. I have found four different maps of the Helion system (12 colonies) ranging from a single to trinary star system. I like the 16 Light year star map I found it gives rise to a campaign map and rational to such a large fleet.

The quote is from No3- Diana beers (Lucy Lawless) Galactica documentary very appropo now i see the context.

Speaking of Airship's I remember the big hanger doors at Moffet Naval Air Station in California and the fact the "Hindenburg" went up like a torch was due to US intransigence to give Nazi Germany Helium. Very amazing reference you brought up.

I would like to ask if anyone has anymore data Cannon an non-ccannonical on Aerelon. I have found a references to a Agricultural planet with 1 to 3 moons. The moon with the mention of troy (having a mining colony) is the only canon source I have found. The culture described is a cross between the Lacedaemon meets Northern Britain.

I have taken the liberty to create a Defense Industrial Company called Xiphos ( after the short spartan sword). Makes sense because the CMC Headquarters and major training based is mentioned to be planetside. So one would imagine there is Light to Medium Industry present.

The Graphic is supposed to be on a white background as you can see I suck at graphics
