Just a quick post to say I am about to start a cortex based home brew, modern day, set in England (less guns) Play by post game.

Its predominantly with 3 different groups of people i normally play with seperately, but because of several hundred miles seperating the group, we're trying a forum game so we can all play.

That said some of the members have never met each other as I am the common link.

If you would like to join please let me know.

The actual format and content are flexible but the dice rolling with be done by the Gm with the players posting their intentions..

Ah, sad memories of my failed Dream Thief campaign.

Background and reasoning for it being off forum.

I miss dabbling with forums and websites, so by using external software I have full creative control and get to fiddle, no offense meant to this website of DNDorks which I also frequent.

I may develop a website to support the campaign as well. (also got a blog to play with)

Players: 4 players from my real life serenity group, my brother from Devon who I play board games with when I can, 2 players from another group an hour to the west. plus any waifs and strays I pick up.

new comers will be started in a seperate location, for the safe guarding of both groups, if I feel the groups are compatabile they can meet up eventually, otherwise I will run two parrallel groups.

Medium Zeta forums. everyone signs in using their character names and the idea is to keep who is playing who secret, including who may or may not be an NPC i am running. Forum access is restricted so you can only see what is going on around you.

World Today + 1 year, Midlands England. Its starts off with real world location and realistic events and it will then diverge... intosomething a tad more dangerous and interesting.

There has been a range of good british post apoc tv at the moment, Survivors, Day of the triffids, as well as the huge range of zombie / infected, i will takes samples from each and adding my own twist to what I believe should work well over forums.

GM This only ever the second campain I have run and the first one line.... i don't have a clear idea where the world is going and i'm happy to work with the players on where things end up.

Style Gm does all of the dice rolls, players post thier intentions and I summarise up, supporting by PMs or emails. Players can know thier character profiles in full if they wish, but can also keep them hidden if they perfer.

format I'm aming for two updates a week. but for those who find the forum awkward emails can be used as well.

Ah, so more of a zombie flick than a gothic horror?  That actually has some decent appeal as well.

did any one say zombies....... yes it will more post apoc, than horror. I'm not even sure how to run a horrow game to be honest..... also not a fan of 'horror' movies. Zombies and post apoc I love.

If you want to send me a near completed char sheet feel free, we are working off the veteran level, but skills I will have to adjust, as i've decided a base line for an average person.

I.e. D6 driving is needed to pass the driving test... but this will increase or decrease over time.

If you want to know your full statline that is fine, or if you want to keep it story like and not know thats also good. Just let me know.

Hmmm... I'm interested as well. I have one character that might work; female from another board that was doing a post Cloverfield style horror, or I might work up something else. Either way, probably a Yank who got caught over there when it all went bonkers.

If you are an american in real life it might be worth playing an american or canadian, it will mask any language differences.... just a thought..

Cut off for the first group. well if you want to be i the first group this weekend I would say,.

A secondary idea is if i get 3 -5 players from here who want to play, i will start a second group up and we can start when everyone is ready. hopefully not too long.

One warning, I respect the right to tell you to go forth and leave the group if I feel you are not fitting in...

Every one up to and not including onelast job has a guaranteed place if they want it.

One last job, if you want to drop me and email or Pm or ask questions here, we can try and dedice wether this is the right PBF for each other...

I'm making it as straight forward and friendly as possible so you should fit right in, as long as you can remain in character. Dumb questions are fine as I said this is a new group overall, so they may be a few bumps on the way.

I suppose one last warning, my spelling and grammar isn't great but I do proof read my GM posts, and I do have a silly sense of humour, the game won't be comic but there should be moments to make you smile despite what is occuring.

One final final warning, I will keep the world fair and achieveable but if you mess up, be prepared to make a new character or take over an NPC.
